129 people on trail for drug smuggling [Archives:2007/1059/Local News]

SANA'A , JUNE- 12- There have been a total of 60 reported incidents of drug smuggling in Yemen between 2000 and 2006, said an official in Ministry of the Interior last week.
” The Ministry of the Interior has thwarted the smuggling of 12 tons of narcotics during the past several years”” said the official at a meeting held last Saturday between the Anti-Narcotics Administration and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. The same administration held a meeting with deputy Minister of Justice on Sunday. The meetings were held to promote cooperation in fighting drugs.
