15th World Festival for Youth and Students [Archives:2001/30/Local News]

Within the framework of the preparations for taking part at the 15th World Festival for Youth and Students due to be held in Algiers in the next of August and after the declaration of the establishment of the National Committee for Youth and Students in which all the political parties, approved by the Parties’ Affairs Committee, have been represented by one representative.
The preparatory committee of the festival have organized a speech party and a plastic art exhibition which lasted for three days.
Several speeches were delivered at the party which was attended by the Prime Minister, Abulqadir ba Jamal and a number of ministers. Muamar al-Iryani Head of the Preparatory Committee stated that the participation of Yemen will be tantamount to its great status and civilization. He further indicated that the participation of Yemen will be distinguished and active at the different festivities which will be performed. It is noteworthy that the this is the first participation for Yemen in such festival. The declaration of the establishment of the National Committee for Youth and Students was read during the party followed by the recitation of some poems and performing of some artistic works.
The preparatory Committee has specified the requirements to be needed for the completion of the equipment and the premises of the newly-established committee.
