18 children die of Malaria and Chickenpox in Mahwait [Archives:2003/685/Local News]

Eighteen children died after being infected with Malaria and Chickenpox in Arjam district, al-Mahwait governorate, in October.
Al-Nas newspaper also reports that many of the fathers of the children reported their sicknesses to the Ministry of Health, but the ministry did nothing in response.
The families of the children are demanding the formation of a committee that would investigate the case and identify the people responsible for the loss of the children.
Sources say that the diseases are spreading more in that region, while parents stand helpless, unable to afford the required medication, especially as there is no any sort of health insurance in that district.
