2 Killed, 5 Injured in Hand Grenade Explosion [Archives:2000/45/Local News]

Two persons were killed and 5 injured, one of whom seriously injured, in a grenade explosion Thursday afternoon in Sanaa downtown . Eye-witnesses said the incident took place in al-Melh Market, most famous old market in Old Sanaa was during a dispute between an employee and his employer over wages. The employee hurled the grenade at his employer who managed to escape. The employee tried to catch it again. However, it went off on him and on another person working in the municipality killing them at once. Five persons were also injured in the explosion.
A similar incident took place in August last year resulting in 5 deaths and injuring other ten. Security said at the time that it was the result of a dispute between some people. However, the perpetrator is still in prison and no verdict has been passed on him yet.
