2,000 illegal immigrants arrest in Shabwa [Archives:2005/842/Local News]

Approximately 2,000 sneakers and illegal residents in coastal areas were arrested during last month byYemeni coast guards and security forces. According to Saba News Agency 1,900 of them were Somalis, including 520 women and a child, and 90 from Ethiopia and Tanzania, and 90 per cent of them were captured in Shabwah.

Sneakers captured in the last four months approximated 8,900, among them 7,500 Somalis.
