A tribal clash in al-Jowf left three people dead and ten seriously injured. The battle broke out last week between the Hamdan and Shawlan tribes in al-Jowf governorate, 180 km northeast of Sanaa.
Heavy and light weaponry was used by the two opponents.
Disputes between tribes happen usually over land claims. Previous to the unification of Yemen, 50 people died in a tribal clash between Hamdan and Shawlan before the fighting was stopped.
