The number of new students admitted at Yemeni universities this year exceeds 32,000, according to statistics. Over 60% of these were taken in by Sanaa University, and over 75% are male students. Over 90% of the enrollments are in government universities.  This bewildering level of enrollment comes at a time when university graduates are unable to find jobs.  “Basically, our attitude and cultural orientation have to change. People simply want high certificates,” indicated a Ministry of Education source.
