3rd Annual Meeting on electricity held [Archives:2003/627/Local News]

Minister of Water and Electricity Engineer Yahya Al-Abiadh, along with Mr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Ahmed General Director of Aden Electricity Power, Engineer Abdulmuti Mohammed Al-Junaid General Director of Electricity, and Mr. Ahmad Al-Dhula'i, attended in Aden last Saturday the third annual meeting of the General Electricity Corporation. The meeting is scheduled is expected to end today as it will last for three days
The meeting aims at exchanging experience to improve the electrical and water networks as well as prevent illegal use of electrify. Future projects for the corporation were studied in the meeting and mechanisms for identifying the required tariff from the consumer were presented for discussion.
In the meeting, a number of working papers had been discussed, out of which a working paper was presented about the central operations chamber activities regarding improving the network and reducing electricity loss during transmission.
A number of speeches have also been delivered in the meeting by Minister Al-Abiadh in which he praised the Corporation's employees and staff emphasizing the importance of their job and the services they provide to the community. He stated that this annual meeting carried in Aden approached many topics that are of significance to the development of electricity services in Yemen, and through such meetings opinions and views and experiences were exchanged so as to form a basis for the following meeting next year.
