40,000 tons of limestone exported to India [Archives:2002/24/Local News]

Yemen exported 40,000 tons of limestone to India on June 8. This first shipment left from the Aden Container Terminal. The limestone is mined from Lahaj area by the Lorven company of India.
A celebration for this event was attended by the Minister of Oil & Minerals, Dr. Rashad Barabaa governor of Aden, Taha Ahmed Ghanim, Mansur Abduljalil governor of Lahaj, Ahmad Luqman chairman of the Aden Free Zone Authority, Dirhim Noman chairman of the Aden Free Zone, Mohammed Saleh Turik Adens Security Director, Ahmed Handhal vice-chairman of Aden Free Zone Authority, Mr. G.P. Reddy the manager of Lorvent of India and Hussein Matlub the manager of the Sheba Shipping Co.
Dr. Rashad Barabaa pointed out that this shipment is indicative of the availability of minerals in Yemen in commercial quantities. This will ultimately contribute to the development of Yemen and help in creating job opportunities, he said.
