500,000 Yemeni students sit for exams [Archives:2006/954/Local News]
SANAA, June 10 ) Final examinations began on Saturday for those sitting for their primary school certificate. On Sunday, examinations for the secondary school certificate for the school year were held. Examinations were conducted at 4,120 centers throughout the country.
Dr. Abdulsallam Al-Jawfi, the Minister of Education, said in a statement to the media that the Ministry has made arrangements to guarantee the success of the examination process. More than 514,726 students will take part in the exams covering both primary and secondary school students.
Al-Jawfi indicated that the number of students sitting for primary school exams will be approximately 209,942 and those for the secondary school exams will reach approximately 204,783. He conveyed a message to all students that the Ministry has reviewed the exam process thoroughly and that all questions in the exams will be identical to material found within academic textbooks.
