Official sources confirmed that around 80 Arab and foreign students studying at the Dar al-Hadith Institute in Mareb had been arrested and were to be deported to their countries.
The students come from various countries like Indonesia, Libya, Somalia, Iraq, Sudan, Egypt, Algeria and others.
The official sources said the students were illegally living in Yemen and were accused of having links to terrorist acts.
The students, the sources added, were taught at Dar al-Hadith Institute in Abeeda, Mareb by a person called Abu al-Hassan al-Masri who is believed to have links to al-Qaeda network and who fled Marib during the clashes between army troops and tribesmen last month.
