Training of International Basketball Coaches Concluded [Archives:1997/40/Sports]

Organized by the Yemeni Olympic Committee in coordination with the International Basketball Association and funded by the International Olympic Solidarity, an international training course for basketball coaches was concluded in Aden. A total of 18 coaches, representing different governorates, participated in the course. The lecturer was the Yugoslav basketball expert Vladav Makovitch who was specially commissioned by the International Olympics Committee to supervise and lecture in this course. This course is an essential step for developing and improving the conditions of this game in Yemen. Due to the problems that faced the basketball game in the current tournament, Minister of Youth and Sports disbanded Basketball Association and formed a temporary committee to manage the affairs of the game until a new association is elected. At the end of the tournament the Yugoslav expert thanked all people concerned for their hospitality and reception in Yemen.
