Arrives in Sana’a
A team of Dutch plastic surgeons, anesthetics and o.r. nurses will be working in Yemen from 6th to 19th October. The Interplast medical team comes to Yemen to perform reconstructive operations at Al-Thawra and Al-Kuwait hospitals. Interplast is a Dutch NGO that offers free reconstructive surgery to patients in developing countries. The operation program will consist of various kinds of plastic, but not cosmetic, surgery for children and young adults. All operations will be free of charge and are meant for patients who elsewhere cannot afford the operation. Besides the practical teaching, team members will lecture at the two hospitals on reconstructive and anesthesia techniques. Pre-selection and screening of patients will be carried out by Dutch doctors on October 6 at the two hospitals.
