Tennis Open Championship [Archives:1998/49/Sports]

Seventy players are taking part in the Tennis Open Championship being held at the Sheraton Hotel, Sanaa. Organized by the Sheraton management to celebrate the 31st anniversary of independence, the championship is set to go on until December 12.
This is a good initiative on part of Sheraton, considering the visible lack of similar championships organized by official sports bodies.
Six games are played every day: men’s and women’s singles, mixed doubles and men’s doubles. All in all, 77 matches will be held during the championship.
