Linkage between Labor Market & Qualification, in a Training Course [Archives:2000/41/Local News]

A workshop on linkage between the labor Market and qualification of labor force was organized Saturday lasting to 15 October. The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training in cooperation with the Yemeni German project Advisory Support to the Vocational Training Sector. It aims at qualifying the staff in the field of information and labor force.
Mr. Shaif al-Hussaini, deputy of Ministry of labor, work force dep. said The labor market information system has a remarkable position in the interests of the ministry being that the information is the basic that help the decision makers and the planners to designing policies aiming to improving the employment and qualification situation and handling the phenomenons related to labor market.
And because of the diversified levels of the education and training, its close linkage to the labor market and the need to planning for the training sector according to the labor market needs. The studies carried out in Yemen verified that there is a big gap between the training graduates and the labor market needs. This needs to different interventions aiming to preparing trained manpower at different levels and marking them able to participate in activating the labor market.
The ministry decided to in the frame of the Yemeni-German cooperation to hold a training course in the field of the labor market information in cooperation with GTZ. The training course aims at upgrading the capability of the staff working in the field of labor market information. In the course will participate concerned people from the MLVT, GAVTT LMIS, GAVTT, labor offices and other concerned government bodies in addition to representatives from employers and workers.
