U.S. General Visits Yemen [Archives:2000/41/Local News]

General Thomas Francs, Commander in Chief of the U.S. Central Command is paying a 3-day visit to Yemen on October 20 heading an American military delegation. It is expected that President Saleh would meet with General Thomas who will also meet with Prime Minister, Defense Minster, state minister for the Cabinet affairs and chairman of National Demining committee to discuss bilateral relations. He is also to visit Aden to see how things are going in the national demining program which is technically assisted by the USA. Its his first visit to Yemen since his appointment as a commander in chief the U.S. central command, succeeding General Anthony Zini.
