Arafat in Sanaa [Archives:2000/49/Front Page]
Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat arrived in Sanaa Sunday afternoon for a visit to Yemen for talks with President Ali Abdullah Saleh on the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Arafat arrived at Sanaa coming from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where he held talks Saturday with President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan on the Palestinian issue and congratulated his host on his return home after a successful medical operation in the United States on August 28.
The Palestinian leader will return to Gaze after his Sanaa visit on Sunday.
Saleh was briefed on the latest developments of Intifada, Israeli crimes and results of Arafats visits to a number of friendly and brotherly countries. President Saleh expressed Yemens support to Intifada urging upon Arab and Muslim countries to support it. In this context, president Arafat spoke highly about Yemens stance in regard with the Palestinian case.
The meeting was attended by a number of high ranking Yemeni as well as Palestinian officials.
