Jewish communitycelebrates unification day [Archives:2003/639/Community]

Hundreds of Yemen Jewish community members in Amran governorate, Raidah district last week celebrated the 13th anniversary of the unification day.
A variety of national song performances both in Arabic and Hebrew languages were performed by the singer, Saggy Masha.
It is to be mentioned here that more than 1000 citizens of the Jewish community have been still living in the governorates of Sana'a and Sada'a.
A large number of Jews, estimated at 10 thousands, used to live in those areas before the organized immigration policy adopted by the Israeli entity and other countries.
Sources said that Yemeni Jews have been estimated at 450 thousand people.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni Jewish community living in the US is estimated at 8,000 and has been led by Mr. Mousa Ashara'abi.
A large number of Yemeni Jewish communities are living in other countries like Canada and Britain estimated at 700,000 expatriates.
