Department of English, Faculty of Education, Al-MahweetAnnual Day Celebration [Archives:2003/655/Education]

As the academic session was drawing to a close, the department of Englsih, in keeping with the tradition celebrated the annual day. Dr. Mohammed Al-Kamali, Dean of the college graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Bushra M. Sadoon, Head of the Department presided, Dr. Ramakanta Sahu, Coordinator of Cultural Affairs conducted the proceedings.
The function started on an auspicious note with the recitation from the Holy Quran by Arif Al-Adeeb. Mr. Ahmed Maqrana, General Secretary of the Cultural Council presented a report about the activities of the council. Professor Al-Kamali presented certificates of merits to the winners of literary competitions. Level 1, champions in football match were presented the Krishna Chandra Sahu-Taramoni Debi Memorial Running Trophy. Level 4 students were awarded the Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Saqqaf Memorial Running Trophy.
Dr. Al-Kamli also presented certificates of appreciation to Dr. Hussain Gatrib, Vice Dean, Mr. Ali Hamzi, Manager, Dr. Bushra, Dr. Sahu, Dr. Abdul Ameer.
The Cub scouts of the college presented patriotic songs followed by a cultural skit. The function ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Abdul Ameer.
