Yemeni Teachers’ Syndicate complains [Archives:2004/747/Local News]
June 17 2004
The Yemeni Teachers Syndicate, in a letter sent to the National Organization for Defending Rights and Freedoms (HOOD), stated that Mr. Hussein Omr Mahfoudh was snatched by Political Security from his house at “Madhbah” in Sana'a City on 18 April, 2004. He remains in the custody of the Political Security Apparatus without any charges filed against him and without being transferred to a court according to the law.
The syndicate, considering that this repressive detention does not coincide with the law and constitution, urged HOOD to defend this prominent educator, who is known for his peaceful behavior and support for strengthening human rights and the rule of law.
