A Complaint Against Al-Shomu Newspaper [Archives:2000/46/Local News]

On Wed. 8. 11, 2000, Yemeni Ministry of Information lodged two separate complaints against Al-Shomu independent weekly -Sanaa to the Press and Publication Prosecution. The first complaint related to an insult against Egyptian President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak in an article the newspaper published and the second related to the insult against officials in the State.
Saif Al-Hadheri, Chief Editor of Al-Shomu, told YT that he was surprised at the Ministrys attitude. He said the Ministry had to hold those ministers responsible for corruption cases the newspaper had published.
