Yemens ports, reputed as some of the most important ports worldwide, have a new captain at the helm.
Capt. Saeed Abdulah Yafi has been appointed the Minister of Transportation & Marine Affairs since the latest government formation in 2001. This appointment seems a natural decision in part because the Captain is a native of Aden and has grown up close to the sea.
Capt. Yafi has courageously managed affairs of Aden port working under several posts. With his seasoned experience in marine affairs, Capt. Yafi has succeeded with strongly developing Aden port and its related activities.
As the Minister of Transportation & Marine Affairs, Capt. Yafi will introduce positive change in the overall performance of Yemeni ports making use of his experience in running port of Aden. He has established solid contacts with international marine associations and will able to use these valuable connections in the development of the port.
The attention paid by Capt. Yafi to the Port of Aden has been so fruitful that it is now confidently restoring its glorious past.
Among the most important achievements of the Minister are the reduction of expenditures and care of the common properties which have greatly benefited the ministry.
The operation of the Container Terminal is an important addition to the Port of Aden. Since the genesis of the Container Terminal the port has witnessed a massive progress in trade .
The control of expenditure has also helped in improving the infrastructure and introducing new equipment to Yemens ports.
Adens port has been upgraded with a view even to accommodate the tourism industry.
These advancements are a few that prove Capt. Yafi is a veteran statesman who can produce a positive change in Yemens ports.
