The total cost for developing Yemen airports in the past years amounted to 40 Million YR. This was used to develop technical facilities like communication networks, Radars, training, qualification and expanding departure and arrival rooms in Sana’a international airport.
Mr. Hussain Al-Siagi, Deputy of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Forecasting has stated that in concurrence with the development that the Free Zone is undergoing, Aden airport has been renovated. The renovation program consists of four phases and will end in the year 2001. So far, the first phase was accomplished with the pavement of the runway in Aden International Airport which will be officially inaugurated on 22 May, 2000.
