Al-Emad Open Table Tennis Championship [Archives:1998/03/Sports]

Al-Emad Open Table Tennis championship was concluded on Thursday, January 15th at Al-Ahli Club in Sanaa. Organized by Al-Ahli Club and sponsored by the Ali Is’haq Stores in Sanaa, the championship was dedicated to Ahmed Al-Emad – the late Yemeni table tennis champion. Twenty players from different Sanaa clubs participated in the championship. The final results were as follows: 1st – Abdulkhaliq Shamsan 2nd- Abdullah Al-Saafani 3rd- Tha’ir Husam 4th- Mohammed Al-Hindi.
Mr. Hussein Al-Awadi, General Secretary of the Yemen Olympic Committee and Al-Ahli club management in Sanaa attended the games. On another level, basketball and volleyball championships for expatriate communities continue in the club. These two championships are under the auspices of the Azal Specialized Hospital in Sanaa.
