Sanaa – The fifth Sanaa International Trade Fair is scheduled to start today Monday, the 19th of May with the participation of hundreds of companies from the region and the world.
Among the largest companies participating in the event will be 17 Turkish companies. The Fair is to be held at the Sanaa International Exhibition Center 19-25 May 2003.
The Turkish companies will be exhibiting their products in the fields of machinery (milling machines, milk processing machines, sack sewing machines), refrigerators, freezers, electrical home appliances, electric cables, steel doors, door locks, plastic pipes and fittings, plastic goods (furniture, kitchenware), stationery products, footwear (shoes and slippers), foodstuff (chocolate, candy, chewing gum, biscuits, cooking oil, butter), etc.
In a press release last week, the Turkish Embassy in Sanaa said it believes that the participation of Turkish companies at this fair will increase Turkish-Yemeni bilateral trade volume, which has reached 115 million dollars in the year 2002.
On the other hand, the recently founded Yemeni-Turkish Friendship Association will start its activities by providing assistance to the Turkish companies in the event in the form of translation services, introducing potential clients and agents to companies, and providing the Turkish companies with an insight into the investment opportunities and trade environment in Yemen.
