Arab summit date not final: Qirbi [Archives:2004/734/Front Page]
Yemen said that the May 22 is not a fixed and a final date for the Arab summit in Tunisia.
Dr. Abu Bakr al-Qirbi, Minister of Foreign Affairs said Thursday that the date of the summit will be agreed upon by Arab ministers of foreign affairs in their meeting on May 8 in Cairo.
He said that Tunisia may need to postpone the date for some days to enable President Ali Abdullah Saleh attend the event.
Saleh would be engaged on May 22 celebrating and observing with the Yemeni people the 14th anniversary of Yemen's unification.
Yemen showed reservations over the date of the summit as it is now, on Yemen's unification day.
Yemen demanded that the summit should be held in Cairo which annoyed Tunisia.
Yemen has been reported to have been unhappy as its initiative for Iraq and Palestine problems has not been put on the agenda of the Arab League summit.
