Biological safety introduced [Archives:2004/704/Local News]

The General Authority for Protection of the Environment at the Ministry of Water and Environment is planning to organize next Tuesday January 20, 2004 an Informational Introductory Workshop and Carthaginian Protocol on Biological Safety.
The working papers to be presented in the workshop will touch upon the biological diversity in the Republic and the concepts of biological technology as well as the legal organization of Biological Safety in addition to a precis about the National Program for Biological Safety and the Role of Media in Environmental Public Awareness. The presentation of the Carthagena Protocol as well as the impact of genetic engineering on the agricultural diversity in Yemen will also be tackled
The Workshop shall bring together a number of specialists in the domain of biological diversity and the media.
