British Council to Manage a Us$ 500,000 Project [Archives:2000/34/Local News]
The Royal Netherlands Ambassador, Mr. Arend Meerburg, and the Minister of Planning & Development, Mr. Ahmad Sufan signed a two-year agreement on 31 August, to provide human resources training support to the Yemeni Government.
The British Council Director, Mr. Adrian Chadwick, signed a separate agreement with the Ministry of Planning & Development under which the British Council will manage all aspects of the project.
The $500,000 worth project is funded entirely by the Royal Netherlands Embassy, and aims over the course of two years to provide training and work attachments to between 46 and 56 Yemeni civil servants in the areas of economic, financial and administrative reforms. The straining and work attachments will take place in Yemen and Jordan.
