Amidst strict security measures, British Frigate HMS-CAMPBELTOWN arrived at Aden seaport on Sunday morning on a two-day visit and the British ambassador to Yemen Ms Frances Guy and senior Yemeni military officials had welcomed the British Frigate at the Aden seaport.
Governor of Aden Taha Ahmed Ghanim stated that the visit of the British Frigate to the port of Aden was in the framework of historical relations between the two countries and the British and Yemeni longs-standing Naval relations. He added that the visit aimed at achieving an exchange of expertise with the Yemeni navy. The Frigate visit also indicates restoration of Aden ports role and normal action after a period when military vessels stopped visiting the port because of the Cole destroyer incident, Mr Ghanim added. Mr Ghanim has further said despite that the port of Aden continued to receive merchant and tourist ships. He said now the port of Aden has restored its naval role and Yemens security is capable of providing full protection and aborting any acts of sabotage.
