Bystanders injured in gunfight [Archives:2004/769/Local News]

Last Tuesday afternoon, one man was killed and another injured in a gunfight in the area of the Haddah qat market. The two men, local merchants, were bystanders in what was revealed to be a dispute between the owner of a factory and an armed group, over a piece of land neighboring the market.
The police have begun to investigate the incident while locals have expressed their dissatisfaction with the lack of control exercised by the state concerning such disputes.
