Call for unity [Archives:2003/676/Local News]

Sana'a, Oct. 12_ The society of Yemeni religious leaders called in a statement distributed on Thursday the Iraqi religious scholars and the people of Iraq for joining forces and unifying the he Iraqi ranks in order to surmount the extraordinary circumstances that Iraq is experiencing at present.
The statement also urged the Iraqi people to safeguard their rights and protect honor, property and mosques as well as keeping the national unity of the country and people, proceeding from the Islamic principles.
Yemen's leading clerics also appealed to their brothers in Iraq to help each other and spread fraternal relationship among themselves and to be a good example for others. They also called on the Iraqis to give priority to the supreme interest of the society and the homeland and discard any differences.
