Campaign to curb revenge launched [Archives:2002/32/Local News]
Preparations are in full swing by the Peace House Organization to launch a campaign to curb the revenge phenomenon in Yemen starting from August 8 and ending in early October. The campaign primarily aims at raising awareness among people of the devastating consequences of tribal revenge, which causes disastrous effects on the national level. Different tribal areas and cities where kidnapping and revenge incidents are widely spread such as Mareb, Jawf, Amran, Dhamar and Baidha are planned to be the focus of the campaign.
A large number of posters and notices has been recently distributed pertaining to revenge and kidnapping and their negative impact on development.
Plastic art exhibitions, religious lectures and sermons are to be delivered to raise awareness among Yemenis of the need to curb this evil phenomenon, which has distorted the image of Yemen abroad and caused instability for a very long period of time.
