Center for receiving fish products in Aden opened [Archives:2004/741/Local News]

Minister of Fisheries, Dr Ali Mohammed Majwar, on Sunday 23 May opened in Aden a center for receiving and preparing fish. The center's capacity is 200 tons, funded by the State Establishment for Fish Services and Marketing, Aden branch. The project includes two halls for fish preparation, another for receiving freezing equipment and a fourth for packaging fish products in conformity with international specifications. The project aims at making a practical start in investment for exporting fish to European markets. The Minister had made an inspection tour of the central laboratory and listened to detailed explanations offered by the laboratory officials on its tasks concerning the examination of fish quality before exporting fish products abroad.
