Children’s rights discussed [Archives:2004/734/Local News]

The High Council for Motherhood and Childhood, in cooperation with a Swedish organization, held a workshop April 27 to 29 to educate children of their rights.
It was participated by a number of students of both genders representing a number of schools from Sana'a Secretariat.
Dr. Buthainah Al-Ja'afi, President of the High Council for Motherhood and Childhood, confirmed the importance of this workshop.
She pointed out that the need to define what children want, what are their rights guaranteed by the legislations and laws, and how children look upon them.
The Undersecretary of Ministry of Social Affairs, Mr. Ali Saleh Abdullah, praised the role played by the High Council and the support of the donor organizations to the activities of concern to the children.
The Director of Schools Activities of the Ministry of Education talked about the role to be played by his ministry, and how to make practical the opinions and suggestions of the nearly 30 students who participated in the workshop.
