SANA'A, Sept. 19 ) Security forces in Sana'a arrested a soldier who left a bag containing his clothes and arms beside an American diplomat's house near Haddah Hotel.

Suspecting it to be full of explosives, other soldiers informed authorities who rushed to the location and laid a siege around the bag last Wednesday.

Eye witnesses told Yemen Times security forces asked the residents of the neighboring areas to leave their homes, causing panic and fear.

“With security forces laying siege around the area, they told me that a terrorist put an explosive-loaded bag there and asked me to leave the house with my family,” said Ahmed Al-Qatwani, a nearby resident.

“It is very difficult to feel that your family is in danger, so I hurried to my house and took my family away from that place,” he added.

The American Embassy did not want to comment on the matter.
