Yemen and Ethiopia have signed last week an agreement to enhance cooperation between the two countries. The agreement was signed at the Yemeni Ministry of Planning in Sanaa in three fields: investment, vocational training and cattle trade.
Dr. Mulu-Kesela, Ethiopian Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Development held a conference in which she said that the agreement came as a consequence of the hard work of the joint ministerial committee. The agreement represents a step to increase cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, education, development and agriculture, especially in exporting cattle from Ethiopia to Yemen.
The agreement also encourages investors from each country to invest in both countries. Moreover, the agreement stressed on the importance of taking solid steps to combat the illegal smuggling for cattle and focused on health standards of imported cattle.
Dr. Kesela emphasized that the two countries have much in common and should exploit all means of cooperation possible especially in the fields of investment, trade and tourism.
