An official source in the Interior Ministry stated that crimes ratio in 1999 decreased sharply in comparison with 1998. The ratio of discovered crimes in 1999 is 93,6.% The Interior Ministry has future prospects for the year 2000 in terms of expanding Central Prisons in some governorates and establishing Central Prisons in Al-Dalaa and Imran governorates. However, he did not elaborate on whether the new prisons will be provided by the iron shackles existing in Yemeni prisons since the Imams rule.
