Arwa University concluded its 7th cultural week activities, April 29, held in cooperation with Al-Husaini Company.
Dr. Waheba Fara, the President of the University pointed out that the activities, which coincided with the celebration of Sana'a, the Arab Cultural Capital 2004, are in attempting to present the students' intellectual, creative and innovative abilities and acquainting the students with national and Arab issues of great importance.
She added that the activities are a form of expressing solidarity with the Palestinians who are encountering brutal treatment at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces.
On another dimension,, Mr. Yahya Mohamed Abdullah Saleh, Commander of the Central Security and Chairman of Kanan Palestinian Charity, confirmed that this activity assists in clearly showing the Arabic Palestinian civilization and their history in order to confront the Israelis' claims.
He pointed out that what is taking place in Fallujah is no different from what is taking place in Palestine. An occupation is an occupation, and the military weapons are the same. The goal is to destroy the capability of the Arab and Muslim countries.
At the beginning of the activities, a film was played showing the struggle and cope of the Palestinian people and the suffering of the Palestinian children.
The activities also included several artistic exhibitions as well as political and scientific seminars where Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abo Baker Al-Qirbi talked about the importance of the Yemeni initiative to reform the Arab League in confronting the US Big Middle East Project.
Saeed Thabit, Undersecretary of Yemeni Journalist Syndicate talked about the democratic experiment in the election of YJS.
Finally Qadri Ahmed Haider and Abdul Bary Taher talked bout the historic depth of Sana'a city, and the cultural role the phenomenon of the return of the folklore literature, respectively.
