Cultural corner for students at Faculty of Law [Archives:2004/751/Local News]
The Arab Sisters' Forum on Human Rights in cooperation with UNDP and United Nations Human Rights Commission -Geneva-, has organized a project to provide a cultural corner for students at the Faculty of Law, concerned with human rights issues. The project consists of three activities as follows:
1- Training 27 students on the use of computers and various programs, the use of the internet and electronic mail and to connect them with local, Arab and internal addresses concerned with human rights issues.
2- Presenting internet services free of charge at the forum for three days a week for some selected students.
3- Organizing regular training sessions on the definitions and understandings of local, regional and international monitoring mechanisms for the protection of human rights.
The training session targets some senior students from the Faculty of Law and recent graduated students.
It is worth mentioning that the forum will participate in the UN conference in Beirut during the period 8-10 of July under the slogan “Ten Years since the Beijing Conference” (The Fourth International Women's Conference). The conference aims to evaluate the accomplishments of the past 10 years.
