Daylight kidnapping Outrageous! [Archives:2002/22/Front Page]

Rami Zakaria Bazaraa was kidnapped from his house in the Faj Attan neighborhood in the afternoon of Friday May 24.
According to Rami, at about 1 p.m, a group of armed men led by Mohammed Abdulrahman Mohammed Ali Othman and Rami Abdulwahhab Mahmoud abducted Bazaraa after persuading him to come out of his house by claiming that a person he knew was waiting for him outside.
He was then driven to Sofan City North of Sanaa, where he was tortured and beaten up brutally.
According to a medical report and Ali Al-Darawani, the criminal investigation authority representative at Azal Hospital, the kidnapped man was harshly beaten up by the kidnappers by various tools including a knife and electrical shockers.
According to the Bazaraa, the kidnappers threatened to kill him by pointing a machine gun straight at his head, and they used brutal methods of torture and humiliation.
The medical report confirms that a wound that is 1-cm long and 2-cm deep was left in the top of Ramis head, along with several scars on his neck.
A number of people found Rami and took him to the Azal Hospital, where the medical report was written.
One suspect Mohamed Abdulrahman Mohamed was arrested while another suspect Rami Abdulwahhab Mohmoud is still at large.
The case is currently at the criminal investigation authority of the Capital Secretariat, where the abducted identified the attackers and explained the horrific torture he went through.
