A symposium on religions and dialogue among civilizations was concluded in Sanaa on Sunday.
Among the important subjects tackled were; Islam and the West, possibility of dialogue among religions, Islam, question of affiliation, oriental studies, Islamic movement and authority and Islamic brotherhoods and their development.
Dr. Abdulkarim al-Iriyani the political advisor to the president, spoke during the symposium pointing out that the change caused by the Sept. 11 attacks has not yet ended.
We have to monitor the situation and deal with it wisely. We can do that through the development of the Arab societys political awareness, Dr. al-Iriyani said.
Dr. al-Iriyani highlighted the importance of developing Yemens relations with the world as well as strengthening its democratic experience by taking part in spreading peace.
He called for avoiding extremism and to unite forces against the foes of democracy and civil society.
