Diesel-fuelled vehicles to be banned in capital [Archives:2004/700/Local News]
The capital secretariat has decided to ban traffic of vehicles using diesel fuel inside the capital Sana'a beginning from this January. Statistics of the traffic authority mention that passenger buses that use diesel fuel inside the capital secretariat are about 7380 while the general authority for environment protection indicates that those vehicles cause environment pollution.
The decision had been taken at earlier time but buses owners had staged strikes in protest of preventing traffic of their vehicles and demanded for alternatives, all of which had led to postpone implementation of the decision to a later date.
