Dinner party on the Golden Jubilee of Elizabeth II [Archives:2002/27/Local News]

The British Ambassador to Yemen, Ms Frances Guy, organized a dinner party on Saturday June 15 on the occasion of the British Queen, Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee celebration. The party was attended by Diplomats, ambassadors, politicians, pressmen and many Yemeni officials. The Yemeni government was represented by Mr. Alawi Al Atass, State Minister for Parliament and Shoura Affairs. In her speech, Ms Frances Guy, praised the Yemeni participation in this celebrations in London which witnessed a large Exhibition on Yemen in the British Museum titled The Queen of Sheba: Treasures of the Ancient Yemeni Heritage.
The Yemeni-British relations were very different 50 years ago, but now it witnessed much developments; in both countries, the average ages, the number of children joining the school has raised rapidly, the woman is sharing in the political life more actively and our countries witnessing a specific political stability nowadays. So, we should do our best to develop our future relations and I hope the current Exhibition in London will enhance more visiting chances between our countries. The British Ambassador said.
