Distinguished from local banks:IITB inaugurates electronic cashier [Archives:2004/775/Business & Economy]

The International Islamic Tadhamon Bank (IITB) celebrated launching the service of the automatic cashier (A.T.M.) on Tuesday, Sep. 14th 2004. This service allows the Bank's customers and international credit cards holders to use it not only in Yemen but also in any other country.
Amer Tuqan, General Manager of the bank, confirmed that IITB offered this service in order to meet the needs of its customers and to provide some other services. The automatic cashier of IITB is different from those of other banks because it is not usable just by IITB Cards, but also by International Credit Cards from different countries. The IITB Cards can be used abroad.
'The IITB will distribute cashiers in all its branches and in various public places, such as trade centers, hospitals, and hotels,' he added.
The Bank will present the following services within the coming days:
– Prepaid credit cards that can be used in ATM's worldwide.
– Internet credit cards that facilitate online shopping through the Internet.
Dr. Marwan Qaddurah, Chairman of the board and General Manager of the company Credit Services Cards (CSC), pointed out that the IITB Cards can be used in 220 countries, 12 of which are Arabic countries.
It is worth mentioning that IITB attains first place in the list of national banks according to the monetary status. The Bank has assets of YR 91.3 billions, and its deposits reach YR 79.7 billions. The Bank attains the same position in terms of funds, which reached YR 42.9 billions during the first part of this year, according to the report of the Central Bank of Yemen.
