The Ministry of Civil Service & Pensions organized a symposium on the importance of documents for developing administrative & scientific research, during 20-21 July in cooperation with the National Center for Documentation and the Supreme Documentation of the Institute of Tunisia.
Dr. Abdulwahab Raweh, minister of civil service & pensions, commended the solid bilateral relations between Yemen and Tunisia and thanked Tunisian institutions for their support in training Yemeni personnel in implementing Yemens administrative reforms.
Raweh stressed on the importance of documentation and keeping archives, which he described as one of the most important components of good governance. He also expressed his regret over the delay in starting a proper archiving system of documents until recently.
The symposium is meant to highlight the importance of keeping and organizing the medium-size archives of ministries and other government agencies in compliance to the international technical standards. Computerized documentation was also highlighted in the symposium along with indexing, categorization and references.
