Emirates Red Crescent undertakes development projects in Yemen [Archives:2005/896/Business & Economy]

Totaling in over US$ 13 million, the Emirates Red Crescent has carried out development projects including health centers, digging drinking water wells, building and renovating schools and mosques.

A delegation from the Emirates Red Crescent Organization has visited Sana'a recently for six days during which the vice president of the republic of Yemen Abd Rabeh Mansour Hadi was presented the Crescent shield for their role in aiding the development in Yemen and for supporting humanitarian issues; he also inaugurated the offices of the Emirates Red Crescent in Yemen.

Office of the Emirates Red Crescent would also supervise the projects and assistance offered by most Emirates charities and societies in line an agreement concluded between Yemen and the Red Crescent in Abu Dhabi a few months before. According to the agreement the Emirates Red Crescent would be the supervisor on implementation of projects and assistance represented in building and furbishing mosques and carrying out health, humanitarian and educational programs funded by most Emirates-based charities.
