Eritreans dance in Sana’a on national day [Archives:2004/742/Local News]

Friday, 28 May 2004- The Eritrean Community held an artistic festival on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of their national day, May 24. The celebration, held at Yemen Research and Studies Center, was attended by many members of the Eritrean community in Sana'a, as well as other invited guests. An Eritrean musical band, flew from Asmara for this occasion, performed a several-hour live program consisting of song lyrics and dances.
Mr. Hassan Shareef, Charge d' Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy expressed his comfort and joy of to the outcome of the event and to the gathering of many Eritreans on this valuable occasion.
In a statement to Yemen Times, the Charge d'Affairs said, “Eritreans in Yemen similarly to their brothers in the homeland, commemorate this occasion and remember the struggle and dauntless sacrifices of many Eritreans for the freedom and independence of the country”.
