Under the auspices of Mr. Mohammad Al-Kuhali, Chairman and General Manager of the National Bank of Yemen (NBY), the NBY and Aden Hotel are organizing, from October 17- November 6, the footsal competition for the President Cup at the area of Aden Hotel. The championship is being staged on the occasion of the Yemeni Revolutions. This event is pondered upon as a kind of pleasure during the evenings of Ramadan as well as being a fruitful contribution to the progress of sports in Aden.
12 teams from different government institutions and administrations in Aden are participating in the event. The organizing committee is formed of Dr. Ahmad Ali, General Supervisor, Abubakr Al-Mass, Manager of the Championship, and Wojdan Mohammad, Secretary of the Championship. The organizing committee also includes five other members, namely, they are: Shihab Thabit, Mohammad Saleh, Ahmad Hussein, Hadi Abdullah and Ridhwan Al-Saqqaf. Two plays are to be held every day.
The participating teams were divided through the draw into two groups, and the games of each group will be run according to the one-round scheme. First and second winners of each group are to qualify for the second round of the competition. The final meetings will involve the four winners of the both the groups. The first of group one will encounter the second of group two and the second of group one will play against the first of group two. In the final meetings, if the game time ended with a draw, the two teams will resort to the penalty kicks.
