Foundation stone laid for Aden dock [Archives:2004/768/Local News]

The Minister of Transportation Omar Al-Amoudi, on Saturday August 21st laid the foundation stone for the dock of Aden Gulf Company, one of the Hail Sa'eed An'am and Partners Group. The 30 million euro dock is 260 meters long, and 28 meters wide.
This project will help reduce congestion of vessels at the Al-Mu'ala Port, and boost imports to the Horn of Africa, the Middle East, and other areas around the world with a daily capacity of 18,000 tons.
The dock, which will be built in 18 months, has a depth of 14 meters on the northern side, and is ready to receive large vessels loaded with up to 90,000 tons.
The launching ceremony was attended by Abdul-Karim Shaif, Secretary General of the Aden Local Council, Eng. Wahid Ali Rashid, secretary of the governorate, Ahmed Al-Dhila'i, Undersecretary of the governorate, and Rashad Hail Sa'eed, Executive Director of Hail Sa'eed Group in Aden.
