Gahm and Haraz, Mounting Tension [Archives:1999/43/Local News]

Mediation of Sheikh, Ali Maqsa and Skeikh Mohammed Ahmad Al-Zaidi to calm down the tension between the Gahm tribe and the Haraz tribes went begging. The conflict started by the kidnapping of a woman from Gahm by Ahmad Saghir Al-Harazi, from Haraz last June. As a reaction, the Gahm tribe kidnapped ten people from the Haraz tribe and is still keeping them as hostages. Following the failure of the mediation, the Gahm tribe warned its opponent that something regrettable would occur to it if it did not hand the kidnapped woman along with her kidnappers to the Gahm tribe.
